WHO WE ARE

Inspired by the melodic lines and two-part horn voicing of the legendary quintets of Art Blakey, Cannonball Adderley and Horace Silver, Swingbone breathes fresh life into jazz standards and cool blues grooves from Ohio’s north coast to Traverse City, Michigan. With a rock-solid rhythm section behind the tenor sax/trombone-fronted band, Swingbone has a blended sound reminiscent of the early Jazz Crusaders, moving seamlessly from ‘40’s big band swing to bebop-inspired jazz classics. Drawing heavily from the great American songbook, Swingbone treats the audience to favorites from Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Benny Golson, Freddie Hubbard, Clifford Brown, and so many more.
